Start in Muscat for the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Mutrah Souq and the old harbour. Continue via Bimmah Sinkhole and Wadi Shab, then use the desert for a night under the stars. Finish in the mountains for Nizwa, Jebel Akhdar or Jebel Shams. A 4x4 may be needed for parts of this route, and wadi or mountain access depends on conditions.
